Teeth Cleaning

For a Lifetime of Healthy Smiles

Teeth cleaning and polishing is an essential component of children’s preventative dental care. Our pediatric dentist in Loudoun County uses a special paste to polish teeth and remove plaque build-up. We may even use a special scaling tool to scrape off the tartar. Teeth cleaning, polishing, and fluoride treatment are recommended every six months to maintain optimal oral health.

Why Pediatric Dental Care?

Your Child Deserves the Best

Pediatric dentists are uniquely qualified and trained to protect your child’s overall dental health and oral hygiene. Armed with 2 to 3 additional years of training at university pediatric facilities, pediatric dentists have a keen understanding of children’s dental anatomy. They also have specialized training in the psychological aspects of pediatric care, communication skills, and ensuring children’s comfort.

Orthodontics

For Straighter Smiles

Children’s teeth often need guidance to help them grow correctly and with proper alignment. The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that children should have their first orthodontic evaluation at age 7. If the child has oral habits like thumb-sucking, they may even benefit from an earlier orthodontic evaluation.

Early orthodontic treatment can guide the child’s jaw growth, minimize the risk of trauma to protruded front teeth, correct harmful oral habits, help the permanent teeth grow with optional alignment, and improve overall self-esteem. Orthodontic care should be handled at the earliest time possible when the jaws and teeth are still malleable.

Sedation Dentistry

Children are often terrified of dental treatments. Sedation dentistry can alleviate the child’s anxieties and mental discomfort, helping them overcome their fears and hesitations. Not every child needs sedation dentistry. Our kids’ dentist in Ashburn and South Riding will determine if your child needs sedation based on their anxiety levels, the child’s condition, and the parent’s input. If sedation dentistry is necessary, we use nitrous oxide or oral sedation to ensure the most comfortable experience.

Emergency Dentistry

Emergency dentistry, by its very nature, deals with unexpected and urgent dental situations. If your child has a knocked-out tooth, severe bleeding, signs of infections, or other dental problems, you should act quickly and decisively. We provide last-minute emergency dentistry services to restore the child’s oral health and mitigate the damages.

Dr. Bui is the best. She made my 5 year old twins so comfortable and we were able to get everything done with no tears or anxiety. They even gave her a hug!

H.G.

We came to Dr. Bui when my youngest had a stuck loose tooth and abscess in the way. Dr. Bui and her staff put him at ease instantly and knew exactly how to work through his fears.

I love this place for my kids. Dr. Cris and staff do a great job with my kids. Highly recommend!!! I haven't had a bad experience here and my kids love coming to the dentist!

S.S.

I’ve taken my kids to both locations. We have never had to wait and are seen on time. We now only go to the South Riding location since we moved to Aldie and the staff and doctor are great!

H.S.

Today was our first visit and we had an excellent experience. From the moment we walked in we felt welcomed. The hygienist and Dr. Bui were not only friendly, but gentle and genuinely cared for her health.

Your First Visit

The first dental visit is all about the dentist and child getting to know each other. The pediatric dentist will spend quality time with the child, explain dental procedures, and introduce them to the dental tools using colorful and imaginative language. This is done to help the child feel comfortable within the dental clinic. We also review your child’s medical and dental history, examine their mouth and teeth, and evaluate their dental habits. After the session, we discuss your child’s dental health, treatment possibilities, and other concerns.

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that a child’s first dental visit be scheduled before their first birthday. Nova Children’s Dentistry follows all of AAPD guidelines, specializing in infant oral health and education. Please contact Nova Children’s Dentistry for the best dental exams for kids in Ashburn.
