Nova Children’s Dentistry is led by Dr. Pamela Bui, a board-certified pediatric dentist born and brought up in Fairfax, Virginia. She’s an incredibly compassionate and kind dentist with a personable attitude that instantly puts children at ease. Having completed several years of advanced pediatric dentistry training, Dr. Bui has a keen understanding of child psychology, allowing her to communicate effectively with children without talking down to them. She also focuses on inculcating healthy oral hygiene habits, allowing children to carry a beautiful smile for a lifetime.

Your First Visit

The first dental visit is all about the dentist and child getting to know each other. The pediatric dentist will spend quality time with the child, explain dental procedures, and introduce them to the dental tools using colorful and imaginative language. This is done to help the child feel comfortable within the dental clinic. We also review your child’s medical and dental history, examine their mouth and teeth, and evaluate their dental habits. After the session, we discuss your child’s dental health, treatment possibilities, and other concerns.

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that a child’s first dental visit be scheduled before their first birthday.
